Los mariachis son un símbolo vibrante de la cultura mexicana. Con sus trajes de charro, sombreros elegantes y música festiva, los mariachis llenan el aire con ritmos alegres y melodías nostálgicas. A propósito de Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán: es un grupo que fue fundado a finales del siglo XIX en el estado de Jalisco y que todavía existe. Una particularidad: han acompañado el candidato presidente Lázaro Cárdenas a través de todo el país durante sus campañas electorales en los años treinta del siglo pasado.
No puedo dejar esta sección sin mencionar un monumento musical de la cultura mexicana: La Llorona. Canción de origen mui antigua mesclando leyendas y creencias populares a tal punto que hay más de 500 versiones diferentes, combinando algunos de los numerosos versos (hasta entonces identifiqué 54 diferentes).
